The Japanese garden of Hasselt
(Bus H3-Trichterheide: lu-sa)
With his 25 000 m² (2,5 ha), The Japanese garden of Hasselt is one of the biggest of Europe.
Arranged in 1992 with the contest of the city of Itami (the Japanese city paired with Hasselt), he presents you the typical Japanese landscape, according to the model of the gardens of the XVIIe century.
To stroll in this garden, it is to open up to another culture, to plunge itself/themselves in a sublime atmosphere that puts all senses in awakening.
The garden is composed of three parts :
- a zone of transition between the western park of Kapermolen and the actual Japanese Garden
- the central garden, with the house of ceremony, the show of tea, the whisper of the ponds and a vegetation enchantress,
- a park planted of 250 cherry trees of Japan.
